KNTR Event Banner Contest
Winning Design
By Lindsay Coderre
Do you have mad design skills? KNTR is going to Dragon*Con and we need a shiny banner! To thank our friends at Big Damn Fan Films and the wonderful supporters who participated in the "Get KNTR to Dragon*Con" Facebook Cause, we would like to give everyone the opportunity to participate in the fun by designing a kickin' banner for KNTR to use at all of our events. And you know what? A matching t-shirt would be cool too!
Of course, the winner will receive recognition for their design, but are we stopping there? No! We will present the victorious artist with a beautiful print of their winning design signed by none other than our two founders, PJ Haarsma and Nathan Fillion! It will be a one-of-a-kind collectible that no one other than the esteemed banner champion will possess.
Rules! There are rules!
- Any person is eligible.
- Limit 4 banner designs per entrant.
- Banner size must be 72" wide X 30" high (horizontal banner).
- Format Details:
- Adobe Illustrator files (.ai or .eps) are preferable. Photoshop files (.psd) will be accepted. Minimum resolution - 300dpi.
- All artwork should be contained in separate layers.
- Bleed should be 1/8".
- Minimum resolution for photos/images used in the banner design is 150dpi. Bitmap images should be avoided as they tend to be lower resolution files. Vector images created in Illustrator or similar vector-based drawing programs do not have resolution specs, since they are mathematical equations that can be scaled to any size w/o resolution deterioration.
- The KNTR logo must be included.
- The KNTR url must be included (www.kidsneedtoread.org).
- Big points for designing around our tagline, "Inspiring Imagination". You aren’t required to use it, but you should be aware that we are very fond of it!
- The deadline is May 25, 2009.
- Write to info@kidsneedtoread.org to obtain an image file of the KNTR logo and answers to your questions.
- Email your entries to info@kidsneedtoread.org before or by midnight Pacific Time on May 25, 2009. If you do not receive an acknowledgment email for your entry, we either did not receive your entry or our reply is in your spam folder.
- Our secret panel of ancient Master Ninjas will judge the entries within one week. The winning design will be posted on this very page, as well as all other entries.
- The winner agrees to grant The Kids Need to Read Foundation exclusive rights and ownership of the design.
Best of luck and thank you in advance for contributing your talent to Kids Need to Read!
